Ted,

I hope you realize that Gore missed the boat on Iraq. Time to discuss this was 3 to 6 months ago, during the planning and discussion phase. Whether you (or I) like it or not, we are now in execution phase.

3 to 6 months ago, this speach could have been considered constructive dialog, now it is just obstruction. Gore just doesn't have a pulse on what's going on, and ends up being an odd man out.

And if Democrats get sucked into this at this late stage, they may suffer consequences at the polls. Democrats in Congress were set to go along with Bush. If Gore persuades some to go along with him - resulting in a split among Democrats, it can't end up positively. Look at it this way: If Gore ends up costing Gephard speakership this fall, he will have to face him in 2004.

Yes, yes, yes........this is how a president of the United States speaks.

Actually, no. This is why Gore is not the President now, this is why he blew the incredible opportunity of running when everything seemed just dandy (to an uninformed observer) in the country.

Joe
