Of course you would. But, in the meantime, you treat evolution for all practical purposes as though it were settled. You speak of "the missing link" as though it were a sparrow or a wheelbarrow or some other "real" thing, you tentatively accept it, realizing at another level that evolution is just a theory and that you might have to throw it out tomorrow. Likewise you accept (one accepts), tentatively, that I have blue eyes and that I once worked in the Pentagon near the purple water fountain just because I said so.
