Gottfried, >now that I refinanced, mortgage rates should go UP.:) < Gosh, you have additional cash to invest. <gg> If we look at AMAT's data in the past the lows after split was approx. $21.625. This time Morgan gave a 2 x1 split early give us a equivalent presplit price of $21.46 or $10.73 post split At this price the question is "How will the semi's act tomorrow with the MU news. I say, down! But then again, we have seen amat do strange things at these prices. What do we consider the save Semi equipment stock, AMAT, NVLS, or KLAC. What concerns me is how far Bush will take us to assist Republicans to win in Nov. Will the voting public vote their pocketbook or vote for the security of the US with a war. Long term, the deficit is being increased with the military buildup which may be needed. However, the end will be that the federal government will be competing with corporations for dollars, resulting IMO higher interest rates.

Here in Missouri the state projected a 2.3 percent in revenue but came in with a negative of 2.5 percent. Consequently, with a balanced budget amendment the state must make additional cuts from previous cuts with health insurance rates spiraling up.

Two managers of state agencies told me that some of the single mothers making $8 per hour were going to quit their jobs and go on welfare and medicaid since they came out better. If this occurs, IMO, then we will have additional drain on the federal and state budget.

These dilemma predicaments pose interesting problems that will be difficult to solve.

Just my opinions.
