marcos, That was a fascinating bit of history. I'd forgotten (or perhaps never realized) how soon after the time of Mohammed that the Islamic forces were so aggressive. Messianic zeal can be an astonishing force in human history. That's why I find a man like John Ashcroft to be so dangerous to civil society.
