Good Evening Robert,

Do you have a feel for where this stops - looks like a quick turn here this morning. I guess the old 2.00-3.00 bucks over book is the worst case scenario. I'm sort of surprised some more acquisitions aren't popping up.

My most recent thoughts on the formation of a long term bottom go to the begining of consolidation. Once we start seeing more acquisitions, I think the price activity will stabilize. There is no perfect historical model for present market conditions, but in speaking with several sophisticated investors with a very long term memory, it seems that the consensus is that consolidation is the first step we need. You can sort of see that in the comments from KLA's CEO this evening...."Schroeder also said KLA-Tencor could grow through acquisitions. He wouldn't comment on specific plans, but he did say there 'are some attractive situations out there.'" (emphasis added)

It nice to see someone else can fight the herd mentality.

Ultimately, IMHO this is the the only way to make real money as a small investor in individual equities.

Regards.....SB
