Sig: Why wouldn't it be bad for Dell? Dell has a worse situation than other companies. If companies are forced to move option deals to expense column (as opposed to charging off cost of option plan costs), Dell will lose money for 2003 and 2004. Dell probably has the worst scenario with proper accounting of the option deals, because of its stupid handling of the derivatives.
