There has to be a better way. But the fact is that sometimes the available information gives no clue about a company's troubles to come. Or, we ignore that in a bear market everything is seen differently by the market. No amount of research would have told us a year ago that AMAT would hit $11. There WERE people who HOPED it would, of course.
