Yeah, I hear the crows are really getting hit. But a few birds with resistance will probably survive and slowly rebuild the population.

I heard that some Senator or Congressman wants an investigation to see if West Nile was brought in by terrorists. Sounds like a complete waste of time to me. With people flying around on airplanes all the time, it is inevitable that more diseases will spread around the world. Like I mentioned before, we have one case here that was contracted in Illinois.

Apparently Europe has had West Nile for some years and it does get up to my latitude. They are testing a dead crow here but I think it's too late in the year for mosquitos. I only get one or two bites a year so I doubt I'm in any danger. Here's some news on the West Nile vaccine effort...
