DALLAS, Sept. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- As if owning a copy of "Spider- Man" on DVD or VHS isn't enough, Blockbuster Inc., one of the world's leading providers of videos, DVDs and video games, has enhanced the experience by offering members a chance to win a one-of-a-kind movie collectible of the wall-crawling, web-slinging hero -- Spider-Man. Beginning this week, customers can be one of the first to own a VHS or DVD copy of "Spider-Man," by pre-ordering a copy before the film officially hits the shelves on Nov. 1. To help celebrate the release, Blockbuster has created a limited number of life-size Spider-Man replicas, which consist of nearly 70 pounds of rubber, fabric, steel and plaster. The replicas were developed in conjunction with Marvel Comics and Sony Pictures and are available only at participating Blockbuster stores.
The replicas will be on display at participating Blockbuster store beginning in late October, and will be awarded to lucky Blockbuster members in early December. For a chance to win, members simply need to pre-order or purchase a DVD or VHS copy of "Spider-Man" at a participating Blockbuster store.
In addition, Blockbuster members that purchase a Blockbuster Spider-Man 10-week movie rental card for $29.99 plus tax between Sept. 24 and while supplies last will also be automatically entered in the Sweepstakes, plus they will receive a voucher for a free DVD or VHS copy of "Spider-Man" once it releases on November 1.
