If that makes most people happy, then it works. But is it really a way of thinking that is conducive to happiness? To an orderly society? To a humane society? What is important is protecting society, while preserving our humanity (IMO only, of course). And what is the best way to do this? That is how I reach my conclusion. It is all about where you start, and what premise you assume.
