"When I step into his classroom and take my seat, I feel as though I am sitting at a table with Socrates himself,"

Well, I hope he's not sitting with Socrates himself, unless he has an awfully good BS detector. The Socrates of the Dialogues was an intellectually dishonest, cold, nasty, misogynist prig, who committed suicide to spite the citizens of Athens. They gave him options. He didn't have to die.

Still, I'm very pleased to see a big time prof teaching an introductory undergrad course.

Mind you, a monster prof like West winds up often costing their students credits in other courses as the kids will spend so much time on his stuff - they usually learn a lot so it's a trade off.

Evil is a good topic for a course.
