How to spot a COVER and a BUY signal on MACD

COVER signal - one up day after a steep decline.

If you used my favorite SHORT signal (the cresting waveform in positive territory after a rise out of negative territory)

you'll see a drop into negative territory and then one up day

short term BUY signal - occurs a few days after COVER signal and is 2 up days after the bottom of a U. Therefore could be the 2nd day after a COVER, but I like to cover a little early to avoid the rush. Here is a bad example, since it went down the day after the BUY signal. Good examples of BUY signals are hard to find now.

long term BUY signal - occurs at a long plateau after a prolonged period under the ice. Note: must combine this with DD on the company. If the company isn't going BK, then the MM will get bored and start moving the thing up just out of wanting something to do. You could wait months for the move up to begin.

Remember, I'm not maximizing profit, I'm minimizing risk. I almost always miss the best times to get in and get out. I'll take "close enough" and the 10% per month that it brings.
