let me ask, if I understand you right :
- "War" from the administration, is OK.
- "Politics about war" from the opposition is not OK.

Is there or is there not an existing condition of war, which has been the topic of much debate for a year?

I would rather say the Dems have a position of the politics of "politicizing the war." When you have nothing else to say, attack the opposition for having an issue people want to hear about, and have been talking about nonstop for a year. Grasp the straw, Daschle, you're sinking.
