[H&Q initiates coverage with 'buy' rating] Hambrecht & Quist Inc. initiated coverage of Qwest Communications International Inc. (QWST) with a buy rating. In a research report, the firm estimated Qwest will earn 52 cents a share in 1997 and post a loss of 3 cents a share in 1998, as the company's revenue mix makes the transition to carrier and commercial services from primarily construction services.
