This post has nothing to do with MITA, but for history I'd like to post it: "Germany Shuts Down High-Tech Market 09/26/2002 06:59:53 EST FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) - Germany's stock exchange operator said Thursday it is closing the Neuer Markt, Germany's equivalent of the Nasdaq, after it lost almost all of its value in the last 2 1/2 years. The Neuer Markt and the small-cap SMAX segment will be absorbed into the main market by early 2003, Deutsche Boerse said in a statement. The exchange said the reorganization is intended to reassure investors, who have seen a 96 percent drop in the Neuer Markt's value from its peak in March 2000, about the reliability of the companies listed."
