"We didn't leak any of Samsung Electronics' key mobile technology to China," the company said in a statement.

Bell Wave Co., formed in 1999, produces data modules based on code division multiple access, or CDMA, technology.

Earlier Thursday, the Korea Economic Daily reported prosecutors arrested a former Samsung Electronics engineer as well as Bell Wave researchers and executives for allegedly selling Samsung Electronics' SCH-800 mobile technology for a combined 7.6 billion won ($1=KRW1,228.70) to a Korean company and a Chinese firm.

Prosecutors involved in the case and Samsung Electronics officials couldn't immediately be reached for comment Thursday.
