<<If you note the volume spikes in the chart you see they correspond to the price drops. This is even more apparent on a weekly chart. The shorts clearly sold when they had profits to take.

When we start to see volume spikes on up days we will know that something good is going to happen to the price. In the meantime I think it will continue languishing in the trading range until something changes the trend. I am a great believer in following the trend. It is too hard to swim upstream.>>

Not to be a total wiseass, John, but I think you were asleep during Monday's pop quiz...since you failed on the entire premise of those statements.

To repeat from my previous post, three days ago HDII saw a huge spike in volume (a 600+% increase over normal volume) while the stock went up 17+%.

So, I've 'noted' one of the most significant volume spikes in the last year and it 'corresponded' to a day when the stock price surged up. And the most recent short data strongly suggests the shorts were doing some big time covering.

Thus, by you're own logic, since we've started to see volume spikes on up days, '...we know that something good is going to happen to the price.'. Ergo, the 'in the meantime...' is behind us, the trend is turning, and the 'current' is likely to be the direction of further price appreciation.
