I pondered this post for a while before I decided to respond. Since you use the word "Invasive" rather than "Generalize" I assume you meant that it was too personal in respect to Kumar. I had not brought up his BG in the past, but decided to risk it this time. As a result of this post, Kumar and I had a few PM's and I urged him to reveal more of his BG to the thread. He has since done so, and I now feel easier about addressing Islam with him. I think you and I agree that the more we all know about each other, the better the thread.

As far as my knowledge of Islam and Islamist goes, I am certainly not ready to teach a course on it. But I have just about "read myself blind" on the "Islamist" subject. I think that is the best term to use when talking about the "Fundamentalists" in Islam. Since 9/11, the history of these people is pretty well known in the US, and has been well covered by our in-depth media. I feel competent to discuss it here on this thread. I am not ready to go on "Fox" and discuss it. :^)

I suspect that part of your objection to my post is tied up in your outlook on Al Q. You have consistently opposed any suggestions here that we widen our attack beyond this narrow group involved with 9/11. The attack is much wider, of course, to your chagrin.

I suspect that "the end of the tunnel" will result in a collapse of Arab opposition to our attack. We will win, and they will give in. "TWT"
