MINNEAPOLIS -(Dow Jones)- Nortech Systems Inc. (NasdaqSC:NSYS - News) raised its third-quarter guidance, citing business growth from new and existing customers.

In a press release Thursday, Nortech, which had earlier predicted flat to slightly higher earnings revenue growth, said it now expects third-quarter earnings and revenue to exceed year-ago third-quarter earnings of 15 cents a share and revenue of $13.7 million.

The provider of wire and cable assemblies added that third-quarter results should be closer to first- and second-quarter results.

Nortech posted earnings of 26 cents and 22 cents a share in the first and second quarters of this year, respectively. Revenue was about $15 million for each period.

In addition, Nortech acquired Manufacturing Assembly Solutions, a facility Monterrey, Mexico, for an undisclosed amount. Nortech said the new facility should contribute positively to revenue and earnings in 2003 and beyond. No reductions in domestic employment are expected as a result of this acquisition, Nortech said.
