I don't rock climb, unfortunately. I tried it once and was extremely thankful for the rope tied around my waste.

Puddlewife and I have often hiked in that area, and we occasionally stop to watch the climbers pick their way up some sheer rock faces, and I still don't know how they manage to do it.

Tuck, over on the biotech trickle thread, is a climber who would be interested in such places, though he seems to head out toward Joshua Tree more often.
