a dissenting Jackass opinion on economic news reporting

"This disparity between businesses' words and actions on capital spending seems to parallel a similar discrepency in the consumer economy. "

or is it aggregate capex reporting that is the problem?
as in... sznality adjustments made to raw aggregate data?

once again, as in retail sales reporting, the aggregate looks reasonably ok, but the vast majority of the individual companies announce poor numbers and worse forward guidance

my faith is in the mosaic constructed by the many firms
capex still sucks, despite "treated" aggregate numbers

dont trust USGovt figures, since motives are clear:
deceive the public so as to maintain their spending, maintain their stock investments, and maintain foreign participation in our financial markets, all the while keeping inflation figures low, thus saving federal spending
