Of course not. And also we helped Bin Laden in Afghanistan in the late 80's. We helped Castro at one point.

Not that it matters, but do you think the Americans who helped Hitler by supporting his Fascist state prior to Pearl Harbor and who argued for isolationism were wrong?

We can't change the past, only learn from it. And what we learned is that Saddam is capable of mass murder.
