The e-mail makes good points, but the question to ask is how different things would have been, given the current circumstances if Gore was president. We could be in even deeper recession, since there would have been no tax cut, Farm Bill would not have been stopped, airline subsidies would still be in place (Ted and Jim Cramer were just yesterday complaining that the subsidies are not high enough, and calling for bailout of telecomunication companies).

Joe, I think you misunderstood what Cramer was suggesting in re. to bailouts. For there to be bailouts in the telecom or airlines, they will have to agree to some major changes; specifically, reducing overcapacity through mergers and mothballing facilities, and reducing salaries and costs.

Both industries are suffering from way too much supply. Telecom overbuilt and 9/11 pretty much nailed the airline industry. Its amazing what people will do to avoid flying nowadays. Therefore, in that context, I don't see bailouts as a negative at all; particularly when we are threatened with total collapse in both industries.
