Well said Pearly, on the risks of war for America : "weighting up the pro an cons."

Question : would have Roosevelt or Truman compromised with Herr Hitler had he had a nuke already planted in the US ?

Or Kennedy compromised with Kruchtchv on Cuba ?

As for Bush and Blair, the answer is quite clear: casualties now will be less than in the future.

In the last two days they whole top apparatus gave ample exemples of their war decision already taken.

The actual diplomatic moves to Paris, Moskou and the Chinese are equivalent to the Kennedy's administration ones on Cuba :
"We are not consulting you, we are informing you." As Kennedy's enyoy said to de Gaulle, MacMilan and Franco etc, on a Cuban jump.

I am pretty sure that Chirac will OK the project, while the Russians will more probably bargain for billions and advantages and the Chinese will posture a lot but abstain from veto.

And the Security Council show will be, or a well rehearsed waltz, or the last Tango in UN, possibly the night before our black haired Sinisteralla becomes pupmkin.

"acta fabula est" (Gospel IV, John, edit 95 AD, I believe) "the show has been played"
