OT> Can you imagine the feeling such a person might have. . .6 months after their record is dead . . . they are still told they are a star. . . but the limo is gone. . . the paparazzi is gone. . . and the money is gone. They are still a star in their head. . . but that's about it.

I remember a disco artist I toured with a hundred years ago. . . named Jimmy "Bo" Horne. . . had a big hit that he wrote. . .and made a nice pile of change for it. . . .so one day when he felt slighted by a Cadillac salesman, he proudly blurted out "I'll take two of these". . . buying one for his mom and one for himself. The next week the song vanished from the airwaves and all he had to show for it were the two caddys. He wrecked his within a year. One day I showed him how much his agent was stealing from him through a grossly inflated "equipment rental" contract that he never read. . . I said, "you know that new big Mercedes he drives? . . you paid for it last year. . . and you are scheduled to buy him another this year." I never got to see his recording contract. . . but am assured that nobody made the money that the president and VP of the record company made.

Yes, corruption exists in diverse places.
