Without an external set of criteria, we have
no morality, but are only self- serving. It is not a question of "my reference
points", but a common framework of moral deliberation.

Even if this were true, that doesn't necesssarily mean that I am required to jusrtify my decisions to the external world.

If I am satisfied that I am acting morally, by my code, that is enough. I don't need to submit my decisions to you for moral judgment.

The point on hunter-gatherers was that societal moral introspection requires leisure time, which might be lacking in some societies.

As to "proven," what you are presenting is anectodal evidence. If you are going to argue that anectodal evidence constitutes proof, fine. But I know of no scientifically valid research which proves your point. Do you?
