My response here would be the same as my response to the airlines. If demand shifts then supply has to shift to meat the new patterns of demand. Normally no government involvement is needed in this process, and when the government does get involved its more likely to cause a delay in the adjustment, dragging out the pain over a longer period of time and/or shifting the pain to taxpayers.

Tim, I would agree normally but after I read that in the past few years, the airlines have been cutting back on maintenance because of competition, I can't agree. I think we run the risk of a financially ailing airline cutting maintenance corners and causing a crash. IMO we have too many people flying to run that risk.
