"feral animal" is the more common expression. Or, for children raised by animals (of whom there have apparently been a handful, for real), "feral children."

I read an interesting thing about that. It has often been wolves who have been said to have nursed lost human children. I assumed it was a myth, but I read that an explanation might lie in the fact that wolves don't kill in or near their own homes. (Dens? Lairs?) So if a hungry child got within a certain distance, and lost its human smell and took on the smell of the baby wolves, it might end up being suckled instead of killed.

I don't attest that this is true. But I did read it.
