JOAT -- they did that a while ago (changing their 'Sears' cards into general-purpose credit cards). Circuit City (CC) did the same thing a handful of months ago. that's how they 'earn' money -- get you to charge a bunch of stuff at Best Buy and Home Depot and then sell the receivables into the securitization market for a 'gain on sale'. you will no doubt be surprised by the revelation that i am also short CC in addition to my size short in S <g> Cheers
