It seems to me that at some point these things come down to values. And Reagan's values really don't look all that bad. Compare him to the Ayatollah or Saddam.

And twfowler made a very good point: Exactly who did Reagan have killed or jailed or exiled because they disagreed with him? I can't remember anyone. If Reagan was a dictator, he sure was a mild one. He even left office when his terms had expired.
