Torricelli, prosecutors said in a letter made public yesterday. The prosecutors said they ultimately decided not to bring criminal charges against Senator Torricelli because the donor had seriously undermined his own credibility as a potential witness by making a series of false or erratic statements about his business dealings and other matters.<<< nytimes.com
