I forgot to mention : This was about 20 years ago. Haven't lived in India since then, but when I visit, I still see the 'little deformed beggars'. I'm not sure anything can be done to stop it. My way of thinking : dont give to these beggars, so the economic incentive is taken away, and then maybe it will stop. Some might say, my approach is cruel.....
