<<Now I understand why Russia doesn't want to authorize new UN Sanctons and the Allies are not supporting us.>>

<<That certainly plays into the thinking. Though I doubt it's single variable thinking. In so far as oil is the top priority, they want to either get it from Saddam's Iraq or be first in line to get it from a post-Saddam Iraq. >>

I totally agree. I was thinking that maybe they don't like the deal (the cut) they would be getting in the post-Saddam Iraq. Extrapolating on this thought, Tonly Blair's cut must be good. If we see things turn fast with the Allies then we will know everybody got the deal and the respect they felt they deserved. (Like waste disposal in New Jersey)

As we talk about this it really comes down to frustration about the facts we are being forced to face. Remeber the end of the movie "Three Days of the COndor" when Redford confronts The CIA guy about the Government-within-the Government?

Redford said he would tell the NY TImes and the American People about the Oil deals and the murders. The CIA guy said "Are you sure they want to know? All they want to do is keep warm and have cheap gas."

I resent the way this is being handled. It is so sloppy and naive. The biggest victories are not military but those perceived years later when Historians pieces together seemingly unrelated tactics to reveal a succesful and honorable (hopefully) plan.
