"A Call to Arms"

This thread, the "AMAT thread", the "AMAT No Politics thread", the "Full Disclosure" thread, occasionally the "BLOOD" thread, and, to a lesser extent, some other semi and semi-equip threads provide most of the information I get at SI.

Don has been providing very valuable statistics and he is slowly but surely expanding his offerings.

Gottfied has been providing very valuable charts and these are expanding.

Brian and Return to Sender have been providing ALL the relevant news.

Gottfried, RTS, and others are incorporating formal TA measures into charts and analysis.

In summary, I am very pleased by these efforts and the contributions from many others. I feel that I OWE many people here. I want ALL of us to be as successful as possible.

My personal interest is in Fundamental Analysis. I have tried to help by explaining my philosophy and my reasons for buying or not buying various companies. I think we need to attack FA in an organized, formal way. It should complement the statistics, charts, news, and TA that we are using so well already. It should help us pick the winners when the market and tech economy emerges from these trying times.

I think we should attack FA from the "top down" and the "bottom up". The first, I want to call "Future Technology Trends (FTT)", and the second, "Sustainable Competitive Advantages and Significant Barriers to Entry" (SCA & SBE).
