I never denied he did open up many investor's eyes to the seamy side of Wall Street. But it was offered with an agenda. A successful bank robber knows how a successful bank robbery works.
Naive lemmings continue to overlook his many misdeeds. Because "he saved investors from losing", he commits no wrong? He "saved investors from losing" by dangling an occasional carrot in an attempt to secure a $600 monthly credit card payment
Other than this one ancillary benefit of his presence, I am convinced he was a total fraud.
And in light of the following; his history, the coincidental timing of penny stock short calls immediately preceding govt announcements, his more active fishing for subscribers on SI, the post 2000 crash disenchantment for any service related to stocks, and nursing his deteriorating public track record- I believe he looked for an edge and got one by illegally gaining access to confidential information.
The extortion I am doubtful of. But I wouldn't put it past him.

One other item of interest
His supporters will say he helped various govt agencies by feeding them info.
But again, it wasn't done to help anyone but himself.
Short a suspicious stock
Have peons(paying yet!!) dig up info and feed it to govt or press
News comes out and BINGO, the stock collapses and >>>amr<<< profits.
