I have been reading this thread for sometime to get a feel for what Americans think. I will, however, assume that some individuals who post here are ignorant of the facts and the relationships between all the chess players in this struggle against terrorism. I am a Canadian. For all Americans who do not know what or where this is, I would suggest picking up a book or changing the channel from MTV News and see what is going on in the world. My view of America comes from impartial news services around the world and not CNN. I have travelled in the US but very infrequently and for good reason. For the reasons I feel safe that the US is our neighbor, these are the same reasons I am scared to death that a country that fosters such ignorance is only a 45 minute drive away. If all Americans decided to stop thinking with their fists and missiles and read history and the history between their government and evil Iraqi government, I think all Americans would be agast at how their government supported Saddam Hussein during the war with Iran. How do they know about Saddam's arsenal? Because the intelligence is very in tune with Iraq because they trained their militia during the eighties and supplied many arms to their military. How do they know so much of this Bin Laden? Because 4 billion dollars of CIA money went to Osama's teacher or mentor during the civil war in Afghanistan when the Russians were fighting for the corrupt monarchy that is now being pushed into power again. Stupid. The American government has stepped on its own shoe laces and now have "sacrificed" over 2000 people during a horrendous terrorist attack funded by the very people they supported and nurtured in the eighties and early nineties. Very ironic isn't it? Get the truth people. I don't think ramming a plane into countless civilians who had nothing to do with stupid foreign policy measures exacted years ago and still executed today. I hope for all the victims and their families, they find out the truth about how their government, corporations, and military have lied to them by controlling the media into only publishing what helps them propogate their agenda in the mid-east. I think the US should get out of the talks with the terrorist state of Israel and the wacky Palestinian leader who claims he wants peace and form a conglomerate of countries, not the British or Americans, to discuss peace in that area. Countries that have large Muslim populations who be a help along with First World integrated nations that have a broad profile of ethnicity. People should have power, not politicians who have their strings pulled by the oligarchy. TRUTH
