Although the war with Iraq looked as if it had a favorable conclusion, hindsight tells us the job was not finished properly.

It wasn't favorable to me... But the UN had only authorized the US to liberate Kuwait, not overthrow Saddam. So Bush Sr. might only be blamed for not pressing hard enough for his overthrow.

However, after 12 years of having to put up with him and his duplicity and threats, it's time to put an end to his regime.

The UN let Saddam off easy at the end of Desert Storm, let him off in the inspections process, and are trying to let him off even now..

And now the US, being sick of having to expose ourselves to his aggression and attempts to subvert or destroy his neighboring nations, is required to do what the UN doesn't have the backbone to do.
