Money Penny: Wow!

To compound all this we are now looking at this West Coast dock strike; if it continues even for one week will cost our overall economy l billion $ per day in lost sales, reduced employment (backed up truckers, backed out warehousemen, emptied retail storage rooms) and ultimately sales even more. The danger lies in spreading sympathetic strikes on the part of allied unions (which I really doubt can happen, but it's not out of the question.)

The rate of foreclosures for many income groups unable to keep up payments on their new houses will accelerate as even missing two full pay checks in a row can throw their liquidity completely off the track.

It appears to me the mortgage market bears more scrutiny since dark clouds are gathering and at the wrong time of the year - Winter. Confidence is a major factor in our recovery. All I can say to Eastward looking Mr. Bush is "Look West, young man."
