INTC Larger wafer real estate and shrinks have traditionally been applied to CPUs by INTC. INTC will incorporate all IC functions that have traditionally been provided by discrete chips onto its "processor". INTC must try to use its investment and expertise in fabrication in much broader areas of chip making than CPUs in order to achieve the kinds of return on investment that CPUs afforded in the past.
