(FROM BRIEFING) 7:23AM Tyco probe expanded to cover auditor PwC - WSJ (TYC) 14.43: The Wall Street Journal reports that NY prosecutors are investigating whether TYC's outside auditor, PricewaterhouseCoopers, knew about secret bonuses paid to former TYC execs as well as accounting practices that regulators have charged were used to hide the payments. In addition, investigators at the SEC and the Manhattan DA are looking into whether a secret $40 mln payment that TYC made to settle a lawsuit in 2000 represented a payoff to hide possible accounting improprieties.
