Before they, er, rearranged the info on Campus Watch this weekend (and I agree that the use of the word "dossier" brought some very negative connotations to mind, at least for those of us old enough to remember), this interview was under Professors Dossiers. Now one must look under "Surveys of Institutions", and check out each one. This was an interview with Professor Juan Cole of U. of Michigan.

electronicintifada.net

He doesn't seem to have a problem with the site, or the info provided. He says, "I am a public intellectual employed by a state university and expect what I say to be known and scrutinized." (His next sentence is indicative of a droll sense of humor: "The one caveat is that judging from their examination essays, students are not always really good reporters of the substance of my lectures, and there is always danger of being misquoted or having an oral statement taken out of context and put on a Web site."

Fair enough. This is hardly the first site reporting on Universities' and professors' perspectives, perspectives on the Middle East are particularly relevant right now, and I honestly don't see how the Campus Watch site incites or inflames anyone to violence in any way.
