interesting thought on the Daily Reckoning about recession
if we go to war, then all eyes will be glued to nightly news reports, debates, interviews with experts, and those wonderful "shooting gallery" kills on the screen

back in 1991, the economy stalled partly as a result
in Sept 2001, the economy stalled worse as a result

ironically the next Iraqi War might push the US Economy over the edge, as shoppers pull back to watch the shooting gallery and commentary
by Q1 of the new year, the economy may be in recession again
consumers are holding the economy together now
perhaps entirely on new debt assumptions
this economy is running on fumes

my perspective continues with the oil/energy rising costs
if we dont invade Iraq, displace Sodomy, and instead just keep the pressure on him for months and months....

THEN WE GET THE WORST OF WORLDS
CONTINUED HIGH ENERGY COSTS, AND NO NEW IRAQI REGIME

sometimes I think the US Leaders are fools
true "sophomores" -- wise fools
some like C.Rice are brilliant people
others cannot be fooled like Wolfowitz
but collectively, they dont consider the consequences
lately, they seem to totally dismiss world objections
I wonder what happens if world objections translate to world shunning of TBond financing
