Well you don't think that all over world for centuries all races creeds and nationalities were not treated the same way. You don't think that all the horrors you describe were not perpetrated on poor people, peasants. You don't think that it's not happening today. You think ignorance is like a light switch you can turn on and off in an instant. Greed is always with us and the beauty of this republic is that a set of rules was put in place that checked greed's ability trample the rights of individuals. Slavery was an acceptable custom in 1776 and that fact that the republic instituted with rules led to the eventual making it unacceptable is a success. And as I recall importing slaves became illegal in 1808. That's pretty quick for a Republic that's just figuring out what it is. Is how the Saudi's treat Woman acceptable?? Should America by force take over Saudi Arabia and change their law. The rules of our republic don't call for that and is that a lamentable failure.
