Calypso, Well, the true sniper wants his bid to arrive at the last seonnd so no-one can react to it. true a higher proxy beats it, but many people do not trust the proxy system so they want to bid. Your strats sound OK for your purposes. I have bought about 50 items and sold about 300 items. As a bidder I want to snipe to the max, as a seller i want to get the last bids from the weaker players on 33.6 modems, so I am in favour of a delayed close window that does not close until after 2-5 minute of no new bids has occurred. In addition, I set the price a good 25% below market value and hope that appeals to people. When i do a buy it now I set it a liuttle below market. Those that know market and want it will buy it now. Bill
