I'm convinced that there is something personal at the root of the way SJMN goes after Oracle. It's been years since they published a story about Oracle that didn't slam them. When the news is good, they don't say anything about it, and when the news is bad (or can be slanted to sound that way) they run the story. The sad thing is that I started subscribing to the SJMN because of their SV business coverage, but their business section has gone so far downhill that it's nearly worthless, and the rest of the paper is either newswire stories or junk (or both). If it weren't for the comics page I'd have cancelled the paper a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, the Chronicle is even worse...
