Hi JWRPhD, <<Any thoughts regarding the holding of silver bullion>> I do not have any special insight into the silver bullion issue .... but that has not stopped me from commenting before :0)

I have a bar on my desk made of reclaimed grains from photographic film. I had helped a friend from the Philippines move many more of the same from bank vaults to awaiting van many years ago.

It seems to me that the value-to-weight ratio is troublesome for hoarding purpose, though it has the advantage of having an industrial use. China should be stocking up on silver soon after having disgorged for many years, in part to alleviate the coming political sensitivities of having a trade surplus.

For physical hoarding, I had always been partial to platinum and gold, one with substantial industrial use, and the other with no use at all:0)

Just as useless as the stone wheels of Yap, but based on faith, seems to work as a monetary instrument, and a weapon against the privations of the Central Banks, maybe.

"The antidote is obvious. Buy gold, and buy Yapese stone wheels ..."
