Problem is that earnings have been going down with stock prices. the economy is a mess and george says he is an optimist and leaves things at that. He is afraid to admit the depth of current problems because at this point in time he can't blame it on his predecessor. Tech telecom and the airlines are dying. That is reality. Retail seems about ready to join and george is looking at things through rose colored glasses. Yes stocks may have been overpriced relative to earnings but now they are priced reasonably based on what earnings were. Problem is that for too many major industries earnings are non existent or heading in that direction. George is not even acknowledging the problems.
