Gottfried, I don't believe I need the new modem, ATT does... I don't have the ATT document with me right now, but believe they will no longer support the older modem shortly (Motorola). I've had the cable modem service since April, 1998 and have had the same modem. I'll review their letter and go from there. I know I can get back where I am now (3 computers tied through the Linksys to the Modem) by doing a direct connect, update, then configure the Linksys. I was just hoping for a shortcut...
