David, This is clearly prior art. I thought that the E-Data
patent might be squashed because of its lack of novelty, although
I suspected there might also be prior art. I expressed my doubts
about GIFT several weeks ago on P*. The patent did seem too
outlandish and unfair to hold up in court, and I read that,
if enough money is spent, almost any patent can be broken (especially
one whose novelty is questionable). If your information is correct,
I would expect GIFT to plunge tomorrow. Thanks for the info.
