I've stayed at the Marriot [sp?] a couple of times, it's not too bad, mid-price more or less ... quite central, just north of Dorchester and west of St Laurent ... [? - maybe right on S.L.] ... close to business area, McGill, Vieux Montréal, etc, anyway ... gee, maybe i've recalled the name wrong, is there a Meridian? ... yes not Marriott or whatever, maybe Meridien? - french outfit from France ... mostly i stay with friends or family in that area, just use a hotel for early morning meetings and the like

Ten years ago there was the best portugues restaurant you'll ever see, pretty much in the southeast corner of V.M., mussels in a sauce you wouldn't believe, very friendly people, nice music from family members and their inlaws etc, i'd love a report on whether or not it's still there .... nice walk trying to find it in any case, south and east of Notre Dame maybe two blocks south, three east [?] .... can't recall the name
